Rebuilding Together Southern Nevada Revitalized Eight Homes on Make a Difference Day
On Saturday, Oct. 27, Rebuilding Together Southern Nevada (RTSNV), the local affiliate of national nonprofit Rebuilding Together, repaired and revitalized eight homes in the Cities of Las Vegas, North Las Vegas and Henderson in honor of Make a Difference Day, a nationwide day of community service (Photos courtesy of RTSNV and Amelinda B Lee).
Hundreds of RTSNV volunteers improved the homes of low-income homeowners through maintenance work, including exterior painting and repairs, xeriscaping, property clean up and debris removal. Las Vegas City Councilman Bob Coffin also stopped by a home in Las Vegas to greet the volunteers and meet the homeowner.
RTSNV provides repairs at no cost to homeowners who, often faced with diminishing resources, must choose food and medicine over costly home repairs. If gone unfixed, critical repairs, including broken HVAC units, crumbling foundations and damaged roofs, can lead to dangerous or unsafe living conditions.
