If you were hanging around the Las Vegas Strip on Sunday, you probably noticed a plethora of LSU fans about. Here’s why.

Fans of Louisiana State University flocked to Las Vegas by the thousands on Sunday in anticipation of the season opener of the college football season. According to one post on Instagram, a pair of LSU fans even brought their own trumpets.

The LSU Tigers and the University of Southern California Trojans are two of the most well-known football brands in college sports. Their game on Sunday kicked off the season, and brought droves of LSU fans to Las Vegas.

According to Outkick, this is pretty common for fans of the team. Last season, LSU fans flocked to Orlando for the seasoner opener against Florida State University. This time, they hit Las Vegas.

As the Outkick noted, LSU fans are also known to party. That’s especially true in a town like Las Vegas.

During the actual game, the Tigers suffered a defeat against the Trojans with a score of 27-20 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. This marks the third consecutive time that the Tigers have lost their season opener.
