This Thursday, October 3, Congresswoman Susie Lee will join David Wiens, famed mountain biker and executive director of the International Mountain Bicycling Association (IMBA), and members of Save Red Rock for a morning mountain bike ride through the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area. The groups will also host a press conference prior to the bike ride to discuss the protection of public lands like Red Rock Canyon and Congresswoman Lee’s work to secure funding for conservation programs in Southern Nevada through the Land and Water Conservation Fund. Proceed 5 miles straight ahead on 160 until you reach Late Night Trailhead on the right. WHY: As Congress finalizes its budget for the upcoming year, funding for the Land and Water Conservation Fund, hailed as America’s best conservation program, hangs in the balance.
