Music powerhouse Dolly Parton reached out to fans across her social media platforms, opening up about her decision to cancel her Vegas residency. In a post shared to Instagram reels, the singer explained that doctors advised her to pause performances while she focuses on recovery.

The lengthy clip attached to the post started with Parton revealing that the cancellation was due to her health issues. The “Jolene” crooner stated that while she is responding well to treatment, the side effects of her medication were taking a toll on her. “It’s gonna take me a while before I’m up to stage performance level because some of the meds and treatments make me a little swimmy-headed…”

Parton shared that due to her journey to recovery, it would be complicated to perform wearing “all those heavy rhinestone outfits, the big hair, and my big personality.” The 80-year-old elaborated on her health condition by comparing herself to an “old antique,” noting that her doctors realized she needed “to rebuild my engine.”

Before announcing her decision to step away from the scheduled residency, Parton postponed her performance to September 2026. She was originally scheduled to perform six shows at Caesar’s Palace last December.

Now, Dolly Parton is stepping back to prioritize her well-being. While addressing fans, the country legend opened up about her struggles with Kidney stones, stating that the doctors “dig more stones out of me a year than the rock quarry in Rockwood, Tennessee.” The star added that she was working on nursing her immune and digestive systems back to health.

Parton also shared that her health struggles have not kept her from working, making videos, recording new songs, and going to Dollywood. She added that she was preparing for her museum and hotel opening in Nashville later in the year.
